Desktop Environmental Review:
The Desktop Environmental Review (DER) provides a review of environmental issues associated with commercial real estate property. This review is an ideal solution for relatively low risk transactions where site visits are not practical or possible within the due diligence period. The DER provides analyses of environmental issues through a review of Federal and State database records provided by others. Additionally, the history of the property is evaluated through readily available historical resources such as aerial photographs, topographic maps, Sanborn maps, and city directories. Telephone interviews are conducted with local building department and fire department officials if available. A site visit is not included in the basic DER, but can be incorporated as an added service.
